July 29, 2013Residents may notice a gas smell in Glenburnie on Tuesday, July 30, as Utilities Kingston continues to commission upgrades to the City Gate Natural Gas Regulating Station. Certified technicians will be onsite to ensure safety. The work will be conducted between 6 a.m. and noon.

Kingston Hydro Restores Power to 1,200 Customers
July 22, 2013On Friday July 19, 2013, high winds caused several outages affecting approximately 1,200 customers in the Kingston Hydro electricity distribution area. The outages were primarily due to downed trees or tree limbs.

Utilities Kingston Creates Platform to Keep Nesting Ospreys Safe
July 10, 2013Utilities Kingston electric crews have built an osprey nesting platform on the grounds of the Ravensview Wastewater Treatment Facility, ensuring the reliability of the facility and protecting the safety of workers and the birds themselves. A pair of osprey moved onto it the same day it was erected.

Help for Paying Utility Bills
June 3, 2013The Low Income Emergency Assistance Program (LEAP) was introduced in 2011 by the Ontario Energy Board. Through this program, Utilities Kingston customers, who are facing disconnection of gas or electricity, are eligible for up to $500 to assist with paying utility bills.

Kingston Hydro Restores Power to 2,500 Customers

Electricity: Time-of-Use Schedules and Rates Change on May 1
April 30, 2013On May 1, both the schedule and rates for Time-of-use electricity pricing are set to change. In addition to the schedule changes that happen each May and November, the Ontario Energy Board is adjusting electricity prices to accommodate the rising costs of electricity generation.
