Summer Student Program

  • Utilities Kingston’s Summer Student Program starts on May 6, 2024, and ends on August 30, 2024.

  • Utilities Kingston offers numerous opportunities in multiple departments and groups including: billing, engineering, conservation, communications, hydro operations, water and wastewater operations, and more.

  • Developing the next generation of skilled workers in Kingston is important to us. That’s why we offer students the opportunity to enrich their academic studies by learning practical skills from some of the best in the utility industry. Students are provided with insight into the utility industry and the opportunity to grow professionally while earning a competitive wage

  • The Utilities Kingston main office is located at 85 Lappan's Lane Kingston, ON K7L 4X7. Depending on the department or group, summer students may be working off-site at our multiple locations throughout Kingston and surrounding areas.

  • Summer students are expected to work 40 hours a week. The start and end times vary by department or group. If you are interested in the working hours for a specific department or group, please reach out to

  • We allow students to gain hands-on experience and develop skills for the post-education workforce in multiple departments and groups. Over the years, Utilities Kingston has provided part-time opportunities throughout the school year for students (in certain departments and groups) and has hired many former summer students full-time.
