Participants Wanted for Lead-Testing in Private Residences

Participants Wanted for Lead-Testing in Private Residences

Needed: 100 qualified homeowners and five non-residential property owners for regular volunteer lead-testing. The Ministry of the Environment requires semi-annual water tests of homes/businesses receiving water through lead/lead-soldered pipes on their own property. Participants are randomly chosen amongst those likely to have properties with lead pipes or plumbing with lead solder. Property owners will be informed of results within a week of lab delivery. Past participants may be contacted for follow-up testing. Interested? Contact the Utilities Kingston Customer Service Centre at 613-546-0000. Those not selected for testing, but who have lead pipes and wish to test their water, can call for the name of a certified laboratory.
