You may receive a duplicated utilities bill this January
January 13, 2020Utilities Kingston recently issued 3,500 duplicated utilities bills. The affected bills were printed on Jan. 1 and 6. If you receive two identical utilities bills this month, you only need to pay this amount once.

Heavy rains and ice build-up forecast: prepare with utility information
January 9, 2020A strong storm system is forecast for January 10 through 12 and is expected to bring rain and freezing rain to the region. Total amounts and form of precipitation are uncertain, but forecasts are calling for rainfall amounts of 25-55 mm+ as well as significant ice build-up.

Is there lead in Kingston’s drinking water?
November 5, 2019In most of Canada, the amount of lead in natural water supplies is very low. As the water leaves treatment plants, we regularly test it according to Ministry of the Environment standards and know that the water leaving the Kingston water treatment plants is completely lead free.

November 2, 2019Our crews continue to restore power outages, which were caused by severe wind damage. At peak, 6,000 customers were without power. As of 9 AM today, 164 customers remain affected. All hands are on deck and we are prioritizing the work to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.

May 13, 2019Kingston’s waterfront is a clean, safe place to swim, fish or boat. But, bacteria levels in lakes and rivers are higher up to 48 hours after a heavy rainfall and swimming is not recommended during that time. Sewer overflows can contribute to the problem. Utilities Kingston offers an online map that shows where sewer overflows have occurred in real time.
