Conservation Targets Exceeded – Thank You
December 4, 2015Utilities Kingston electricity customers have achieved exceptional conservation results from 2011-2014. They have saved 45,958,623 kWh or 123.7 per cent of Kingston Hydro’s energy-savings target. That’s enough energy to power 5,714 average homes for an entire year.

Widespread Power Outage in Effect
October 27, 2015We are aware of a widespread power outage. It is due to loss of power supply from the Hydro One transformer station at Division and John Counter. Control centre operators and electric crews are working to restore power to Kingston Hydro customers as quickly as safely possible.

Planned Power Outages to Rebuild Princess Street Transformer Vault
October 19, 2015Utilities Kingston is rebuilding an underground transformer vault on Princess Street, between Smith and Victoria streets, on behalf of Kingston Hydro. A number of power outages are planned to enable crews to complete this work – but customers are being cautioned that emergency outages will also be required.

Kingston Hydro Electricity Distribution Rates: Ontario Energy Board Community Meeting in Kingston
August 12, 2015Kingston Hydro filed an application on June 1, 2015 with the Ontario Energy Board, for electricity distribution rates for the period, January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2020. As part of the procedural order from the Ontario Energy Board, Kingston Hydro is required to make a public presentation of the evidence to provide an overview of the application and to allow for questions of clarification.
