Restored: Crews respond to water main break on John Counter Boulevard

Crews are responding to a water main break on John Counter Blvd. On July 17 starting at 1 PM, the road is closed in both directions, between Division and Leroy Grant. Thank you to Kingston Police for assisting with traffic. Commuters will need to find an alternate route. We expect the closure to be in place for the remainder of the day and we apologize for the inconvenience.
To facilitate repairs and ensure the continued reliability of water services, customers in the area should be prepared for a water outage later today. Crews are investigating and we will share more information about water service interruptions once it is available.
Update: the water outage planned for John Counter Blvd. and Rigney St. has been cancelled, as crews isolated the water main break without affecting water customers. Crews do everything they can to reduce the impact of service disruptions to our customers. Stay up-to-date on water outages.
Update: crews have isolated the break and are putting plans in place to make repairs. The break is located on an eight-inch water service, on John Counter between Rigney and Leroy Grant.
Update: Crews restored the water main break and the roadway at 1 AM Tuesday morning. John Counter Blvd. is open to normal traffic flow. Thanks for your patience.
