Crerar Forcemain Replacement & Sewage Pump Station Upgrades
Project background
Crerar Sewage Pump Station and force main has been identified as in need of a capacity upgrade in order to maintain an appropriate level of service, and prevent sewer overflows. More information about sewer over flows and the work that's being done to prevent them is located here.
Utilities Kingston will be installing upgrades to the sewage pumping station including pumps and yard piping. A new sewer force main along the length of Crerar Boulevard will be constructed to connect the pump station to the gravity trunk sewer located on Front Road.
Planning
Design work is currently in the 60% stage, the works will be starting with the construction of the forcemain and a portion of storm sewer along a segment in the south of Crerar Blvd and a segment on the northern part of Crescent Dr. The storm works are part of a broader project by the City of Kingston.
The second stage of the project consist of the upgrade of the pump station to increase capacity. This works will start after the construction of the forcemain is finalized.
Utilities Kingston is aware of other projects currently under consideration by the City of Kingston including parks improvements, and storm drainage work. Coordination is currently ongoing.
