Rain barrel sales are now open, giving you an easy way to save water, lower energy use, and take climate action at home. We're offering these repurposed barrels at cost, and we’ll deliver them right to your door. They’re perfect for creating greener gardens and building more sustainable communities.

Availability 

Rain barrels are available to Kingston residents who receive a utility bill from Utilities Kingston. Orders must be placed by the account holder.  Each Utilities Kingston customer can purchase up to two barrels per utility account. Don’t wait! Quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cost 

Rain barrels cost $71, including HST and contactless delivery. This one-time charge will be added to your Utilities Kingston bill.  

To keep costs affordable and encourage water conservation, we provide rain barrels at cost, meaning we do not profit from the sale.

Product details 

The rain barrels are repurposed from durable plastic barrels that were once used to store food and come with a two-year manufacturer warranty. They are black in colour, hold 220 litre/55 gallons, and include a leaf and mosquito filter basket, spigot/tap, overflow adaptor, and overflow hose. Dimensions are approximately 23 inches wide and 38 inches tall. Weight is approximately 20 pounds.  

Note: Because they’re repurposed, some barrels may have minor dents and scratches.  

Delivery 

The barrels will be delivered to the service address on the account. No delivery appointment is required, and you don’t need to be home to receive your rain barrel. 

Installation 

Rain barrels are easy to install. Just follow the steps outlined on our rain barrel web page. Multiple rain barrels can be installed in tandem to increase capacity.
