Struggling to pay bills? Apply to COVID-19 Energy Assistance Programs

The COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) and COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Business (CEAP-SB) are funded by the Government of Ontario and delivered by natural gas and electricity utilities across Ontario. Utilities Kingston is now delivering these programs to support our customers through this difficult time.

The programs provide an on-bill credit to eligible residential, small business and charitable organization energy customers who have experienced hardships as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you previously received funding under this program and you are reapplying based on overdue amounts still owing, you may qualify for additional funding up to the total combined maximum credit.

As of January 14, 2021, changes are in place to the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program eligibility criteria for residents, small businesses and charitable organizations, so that more customers may qualify for these programs.

Funding amounts:

  • Residential customers may be eligible for up to $750 in support towards their electricity and natural gas bills, and can apply for on-bill credits for both electricity and natural gas separately.
  • Small business and registered charity customers may be eligible for up to $1,500 in support towards their electricity and natural gas bills, and can apply for on-bill credits for both electricity and natural gas separately.
