We’re thrilled to announce the results of our 2024 public safety awareness survey!

 Participants scored an impressive 84% on the quiz, up from 82% in our 2022 survey. This increase shows that our community is becoming more informed and vigilant about electrical safety. Thank you for your commitment to keeping everyone safe!

 Every two years, we run this quiz-style survey to understand how well our customers understand electrical safety. The results will help us identify gaps in awareness, shape safety programs, and improve how we share important information.

 Key findings from the survey

  •        Looking for safety information: Many participants said they would check the Utilities Kingston website for electrical safety information. This highlights the importance of keeping our online safety resources clear and easy to access.
  •        Who took the survey: Many participants have backgrounds in the electrical field, which may have contributed to the higher overall scores. This shows we need to tailor our messages to reach both knowledgeable individuals and the wider community.
  •        How you want information: There was strong support for using our website and billing information to share details about powerline safety. This gives us a clear direction for our future safety campaigns.

 Next steps

 To build on this progress, we will enhance our communications in key areas like “call before you dig” and “powerline safety.” With these efforts, we hope to surpass our safety score in the next survey in 2026.
