National Lineworker Appreciation Day – July 10

July 10 marks National Lineworker Appreciation Day – a time to recognize the hard work, expertise, and dedication of the lineworkers who keep our communities powered and connected.

At Utilities Kingston, our lineworkers are on the front lines 24/7, in all kinds of weather, responding to outages, performing critical maintenance, and supporting infrastructure upgrades. Whether it's restoring power after a storm or making sure new developments are safely connected to the grid, their work is essential to the everyday life of our city.

Being a lineworker takes more than just physical strength. It requires in-depth technical training, a deep commitment to safety, and the ability to problem-solve under pressure – sometimes in the toughest conditions. From climbing poles and working at heights to handling high-voltage systems, they do it all with professionalism and care.

We’re proud of the incredible work our crews do every day to maintain reliable service across Kingston. Today, we extend our deepest thanks to them – and to all lineworkers across Canada – for their service and sacrifice.

To our lineworkers: thank you for keeping the lights on, the power flowing, and our community connected. ⚡
