We are open to assist you on September 30

On September 30, Canada will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We encourage our employees and community to find ways to honour the shared path of reconciliation. Utilities Kingston will remain open on Thursday, September 30, and we look forward to assisting you.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a call to join important conversations and seek education about the truths of Indigenous treaties, First Nation, Inuit and Metis land claims and the residential schools system.

Reminders:

  • To speak with a Utilities Kingston employee, please call 613-546-0000, between 8 AM and 4:30 PM. Our customer service centre will be closed. Please follow the prompts to reach one of our staff members or services. (To report a utility emergency in our service area, call 613-546-1181, 24/7.)
  • Time-of-Use electricity prices are per the regular time-of-use schedule, as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is not an Ontario Energy Board designated holiday.

  • To help contain the spread of COVID-19 in our community, access to our main office at 85 Lappan’s Lane is restricted, however, there are many alternative ways to access our services

Although we will remain open, Utilities Kingston will honour the intents of this day, by sharing information and the stories of survivors. Our employees will also participate in Orange Shirt Day.

On September 30, wear orange and listen with open ears and hearts to the stories of survivors and their families, hold space for Indigenous community members and remember that reconciliation is a path we walk together.
