Utilities Kingston has reviewed the rates for the natural gas commodity, transportation and storage, and cap and trade, effective May 1, 2017:

• The commodity price for natural gas will increase $0.0096 per cubic metre to $0.1381 per cubic metre.
• There will be no adjustment to the current transportation and storage price for natural gas.
• There will be no adjustment to the current cap and trade price. This rate component rolls into the natural gas delivery line.

The overall effect of this price change will increase a typical residential bill (2,300 cubic metres annually) by an estimated $22.08 annually.

The natural gas rate schedule, effective May 1, 2017 will be made available at our rates page. 

The next quarterly review will be for August 1, 2017 implementation.
