Water Meter Replacement Program

Utilities Kingston wants customers to know that Neptune Technology Group will visit homes and businesses in the west end of Kingston in order to replace end-of-life water meters.

It’s important that customers receive accurate bills for the amount of water consumed by their household or business. Reliable metering equipment is critical to this.

Neptune will replace 4,000 water meters from September into the New Year. Their technicians will always be in uniform and carry photo identification. In addition, all Neptune technicians will be issued with Utilities Kingston contractor ID.

Most of the meter replacements will take place on an appointment basis. Customers are asked to watch their physical mailbox for a coloured pamphlet from Neptune advising that meter installers are in the area and that the customer has two weeks to schedule an installation appointment with Neptune. The pamphlet will include details on how to book and prepare for the appointment. 

Customers affected by this program will also receive an initial letter from Utilities Kingston. Please do not schedule an appointment with Neptune until you receive the coloured pamphlet.

Customers who don’t receive a communication from Utilities Kingston or Neptune in their physical mailbox will not be impacted by this program, and don’t need to take any action. Neptune will only go door-to-door when attempts to make an appointment are unsuccessful. Customers are encouraged to always ask people going door-to-door for identification.
