KINGSTON, ONT./ Dec. 21, 2013 – The Point Pleasant Water Treatment Plant is now operating at normal capacity as the failed valve has been replaced.

Utilities Kingston wishes to thank its 15,000 customers west of Little Cataraqui River, Armstrong Road and Sydenham Road for conserving water use over the past few days.

Plant operators saw a significant reduction in the volume of treated water leaving the plant to be distributed to area homes and businesses – proof that customer conservation efforts helped ensure an adequate supply of water was available for fire protection.

Skilled Certified Water and Wastewater Treatment Operators from Utilities Kingston worked around-the-clock to source and replace the 900 lb valve.

Utilities Kingston reminds residents that it is always a good idea to conserve water as it benefits both the environment and your pocketbook. Using less water minimizes the need to build new infrastructure and can save rate payers millions of dollars in capital upgrades.
