Utilities Kingston and Kingston Fire And Rescue are advising residents that a planned release of natural gas is scheduled to take place at Lower University Avenue and Stuart Street  on Thursday, Aug. 13.   

While the public may notice a venting flame and/or a gas odour in the air for about an hour during the mid-morning operation, there is no need for the public to be alarmed. 

This is a controlled operation to depressurize a section of pipe to enable Utilities Kingston to make necessary repairs. 

The release will not affect Kingston General Hospital or Queen’s University.
