Our holiday hours and time-of-use schedule

Our holiday hours and time-of-use schedule

Our office will be closed at noon beginning on Dec. 23, remaining closed to Dec. 27. The office will close again at noon on Dec. 30 and remain closed to Jan. 2.

You can count on us. In the event of a utility emergency in our service area, such as a gas smell, power outage or water main break, call our 24-hour emergency line at 613-546-1181. (Hydro One electricity customers in City west and east can call 1-800-434-1235. Enbridge customers can call 1-877-969-0999).

Please note that on Dec. 23, our customer service centre is closed, while our administrative offices remain open until noon. During this time, to speak with a Utilities Kingston employee, please call 613-546-0000, between 8 AM and noon.  Please follow the prompts to reach one of our staff members or services.

Customers on Time-of-Use electricity pricing will be charged the off-peak price on Monday, December 26 (for Christmas Day), Tuesday, December 27 (for Boxing Day) and Monday, January 2 (for New Year’s Day), for the electricity commodity portion of their bill. Electricity used on weekends and holidays is always charged the off-peak price.  If a holiday falls on a weekend, the next weekday (that is not also a holiday) will have off-peak prices in effect all day.

We wish everyone in our community a safe and restful holiday season this year.

  • Residential or small business customers, who pay Time-of-Use electricity prices, can now choose to switch to Tiered prices. Decide which price structure is right for you, with tools, information and videos from the Ontario Energy Board. Do you receive your electricity services from Utilities Kingston? You can switch to Tiered pricing using our election form. (Hydro One electricity customers can visit this link.)
