Natural Gas Rate Changes May 1

Your natural gas bill is made up of several parts including for the natural gas commodity, transportation, delivery and storage. Utilities Kingston has reviewed the rates for the natural gas commodity, transportation and storage effective May 1, 2015.

Effective on this date, the commodity price for natural gas will decrease -$0.0344 per cubic metre to $0.1392 per cubic metre.

The overall effect of this price change will decrease a typical residential bill (2,300 cubic metres annually) by an estimated -$79 annually.

There will be no adjustment to the Transportation & Storage rate and it will remain at $0.1081 per cubic metre.

Utilities Kingston reviews its natural gas commodity, storage and transportation rates quarterly on February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1. The next quarterly review will be for August 1, 2015 implementation.
