Hydrants Operated on Front Road

From December 7-10, you might notice water being discharged from fire hydrants on Front Road, between Days Road and Sandy Bay Lane. There’s no need for concern - this is part of our planned work to test new pumps at the Point Pleasant Water Treatment Plant.
Between one to four hydrants will be operated from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the scheduled days. The water will be directed into the ditch, away from the road and traffic should not be impacted. This work will not have any impact on water services to area customers.
The water treatment plant is being expanded to increase capacity from 45 million litres per day to 80 million litres per day and improve redundancy for critical elements of the water production process.
