Bayridge overnight water work to take place Nov. 24

Bayridge overnight water work to take place Nov. 24

Utilities Kingston is conducting overnight work in the area of Taylor Kidd Boulevard and Bayridge Drive to flow test the water distribution system. This work will take place from 12-4 AM on November 24 and will help identify water leaks in the system, helping to improve operating efficiency and water conservation.

It will be necessary for a Utilities Kingston employee to attend approximately 40 properties in the area, in order to read the water meters. Our employees wear the Utilities Kingston logo and carry identification. Staff will not enter the premises – they will manually read meters from outside. (These meters have not yet been replaced as part of the recent water meter replacement program, which is why manual reading is required.)

After this work, you could experience discoloured tap water or air in the pipes. The water is still safe. In the case of discoloured water, you should run a cold water tap until it clears. This may take 5-25 minutes.

Questions or concerns can be addressed to customer service, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM at 613-546-0000 or at our 24-hour emergency line at 613-546-1181.
