To support fire protection, our licensed water distribution operators are conducting annual inspections and flow rating of the fire hydrants in Kingston’s water distribution system. This may stir up deposits that normally occur in water pipes, sometimes discolouring tap water.
If your water is brown: While still safe, brown water can discolour your laundry. Run your cold water until it's clear, which may take 5-25 minutes.
