Knowing how much energy your appliances use can help you manage your electricity more efficiently. We're providing this table to help you understand the average monthly electricity consumption and cost associated with common household appliances.

There are some important things you can do to help you further save money and energy when using appliances:

  • If you're on a Time-of-Use electricity price plan, use appliances between 7 PM and 7 AM when demand for electricity is low and time-of-use pricing is off-peak (less expensive).
  • If you're on a Tiered price plan, keep your consumption under the Tiered price threshold so you can use electricity at the lower price.
  • Run your appliance only when it is full.
  • Look for ENERGY STAR qualified models.
