Crews have restored two unplanned power outages

Update at 8:46 AM:

The outage area has been expanded to 1197 customers. Crews are investigating an issue at a substation. The exact cause is unknow at this time, with an estimated time to restore power at 11:30 AM. Please check our outage map for updates. https://power.utilitieskingston.com/outages

Crews are responding to two unplanned power outages in central Kingston this morning. The first outage was restored at 7:30 AM. It was caused by a birds nest on the 44 kV sub-transmission system, affecting 671 customers for nearly two hours.

The second outage occurred at 8:04 AM. Crews are investigating the cause, and the estimated time to restore is 11:30 AM. Please check our outage map for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.
