Strathcona Park: sewer flushing and camera work

Utilities Kingston conducts sewer cleaning and closed circuit television (CCTV) inspection in order to help maintain the integrity of the municipal sanitary sewer. This initiative helps ensure the continued reliability of the wastewater collection system.

Starting on March 26, Utilities Kingston will complete this work in the Strathcona Park area, with an expected duration of two weeks. The work area is bordered by Princess Street, Portsmouth Avenue, Glengarry Road, Old Quarry Road, and Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard.

What to expect

The majority of work will not interrupt services or otherwise disrupt homeowners. If your home is within the work area, our contractor will hand-deliver a three-day advanced notice to you.

If you're within focused areas of flushing and CCTV camera work, we ask that you keep toilet lids closed when not being used and pour approximately two litres of water into basement floor drains. This should reduce the chances of potential spillage, odours or noise generated by the work.

If you experience any issues related to sewage and believe it may be related to this project, follow the instructions on the noticed hand-delivered to your home. For general questions or further information, contact customer service at 613-546-0000, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
