Crews restore power to 10,000 customers in central Kingston

8 AM update

Crews have restored the outage area, while one customer remains without power. We have confirmed that the issue was caused by customer-owned equipment and are working with our customer to make repairs. Please continue to expect intermittent outages as this work continues.

We're actively pursuing the technical error related to our outage map.
We've investigated our internal systems, and believe the outage map issue is with a third party. Our team has escalated a request with our vendor and we will continue to provide updates.

Crews are investigating a large power outage in central Kingston, originally impacting approximately 10,000 customers. We've taken steps to reroute power, reducing the size of the outage area, and we continue to do everything we can to reduce the impact to our customers. As of 7:30 AM, the approximate area impacted is south of Princess and east of the Little Cataraqui River to the Queen's area.

The cause and estimated time of restoration are currently unknown and we will provide more information once updates are available. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

We are also aware that the power outage map is unavailable, due to technical issues and are working to restore the map as quickly as possible.
